Anyone for Ginseng or Goldenseal?

We recently cleared a shady area for growing beds and are debating what to plant there this fall. Ginseng (Panax ginseng) and goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) are among the possibilities we are considering. As they are primarily medicinal, vice culinary, and as they require 5 to 7 years until harvest, we are wondering if there are enough customers interested in these herbs to make it worthwhile to grow them.
